It’s the end of the world. The last man on earth ( he might be a visitor coming from another planet as well), finds shelter in a huge building, spectacular remains of a former civilization. A strange cathedral dedicated to technologies, art and reason. Safely protected in its surrounding walls, our traveller has sucessive revelations, astonished by the beauty of geometrical and colourful shapes of the place.
« Ballet Barbare 2 » can be described as a low-cost science-fiction movie, a documentary about a pictorial performance, an ode to art, creation and weightlessness.
It also is a nostalgic and sweet tribute to the apollonian and masterful work of Victor Vasarely.. In a few words, Renaud Bézy’s work is a burlesque and dry wit 3-D video.
Renaud Bézy’s work goes through painting, performance, video and ceramics.
Accordingly to Picabia’s maxim « art is the cult of error », Bézy enjoys traveling through the most criticized and old-fashioned types of image aesthetics. His re-interpretes and purposedly re-visits his references on a humouristic and playful mode.
The artist has just been selected by CNAP (French National Center for Plastic Arts) to develop his 3D video work series in Tahiti « Ballets Barbares » (« Barbarious Ballets »).
